sketches

at the end of the day

Everything's not lost

I drew this from life with the Collective sketching group in Toronto, Ontario.

beast of burden

Rob

Drawn from life with a Copic brush pen and a Pigma micron.

Jacki and Rob, unfinished

An image that shows my usual procedure for pen drawing, in which I delineate the forms of the body, and then the shadow lines on the body. Next, I would start filling in the deep shadows, but the pose ended before I got that far.

don't wanna be

Robert is a beast of burden. But Jacki is not really that heavy. It's a one minute sketch, done with a china marker.

your brother's keeper

Drawn from life with a copic marker, in about 15 minutes.

robert

Drawn quickly with a pigma micron pen.

Rob

A drawing done in around ten minutes. He pretty much fills up the 8.5x11 sketchbook page.

Sexual dimorphism...

...can be pretty extreme.

A drawing done from life with a Copic brush pen.

Some games are bigger than others

Jacki and Rob, dawn from life in 60 seconds.

Robert asleep

The artist and martial artist Robert Bentley maintains a somnolent posture.

Jacki and Rob

Drawn from life in about fifteen minutes, while listening to Nathaniel Merriweather. Good times.

A very quick and minimalist sketch of the artist and martial artist Robert Bentley. He's a talented polymath and all-round dangerous guy.
