  1. Throw a portrait party, I love a good portrait party. It's a great way to draw, everyone gets a pen or a Sharpie, and large sheets of paper. People pair off and we set a timer. Everyone draws their partner, and then we move on to the next person. Five to ten drawings are good, and adding cocktails helps too.

  2. Many are they who have a taste and love for drawing, but no talent; and this will be discernible in boys who are not diligent and never finish their drawings with shading.

  4. It is often said that our weaker hand has an emotional rather than a logical function. With it, we have less control, relinquishing this control leaves us freer to make mistakes. It allows us to be less concerned with the final drawing and focus more on the act of observation. Drawings made with the weaker hand are often surprisingly convincing, by tapping into the more creative and perceptual functions of your mind.
